The Dog Tag Initiative

  •  The Dog Tag Initiative enables Veterans especially those that have served in combat zones, who are struggling with mental health or who are just having it tough integrating back into normal civilian society, to go to several underserved communities in Africa and help people in those communities build Community Hospitals and clinics using the Ecological interlocking earth brick technology. Dog Tag Veterans will also help these communities by teaching them how to build and use Micro-hydro power dams to provide electricity to these communities for the first time.
  •  Dog Tag Veterans will also help to educate these underserved communities about solar energy, and how to harness its power with solar panels for powering their homes at night, their community clinics and schools.
  •  Most of the underserved communities we work in do not have clean sources of potable water or clean drinking water. Dog Tag Veterans will help these communities with borehole construction and using solar power and micro-hydro power to power these wells. In doing all of the above, the Dog tag Veteran will be empowered mentally to uplift themselves and that will be a source of motivation and well being for them to be able to returned State wide and share their experience and be able to contribute much more into society utilizing both their experiences and knowledge acquired throughout their military careers and the Dog Tag Initiative program.

                              RYAN

  • “Many Veterans will benefit from the Dog Tag Initiative by serving in similar underserved communities at the same time building their confidence and resetting their inner self all over again”.

  • I was fortunate to experience a smooth transition from active duty service largely due to a startup called Atlas, a veteran focused company that gives veterans experience in technical fields while they are finishing the remainder of their active duty contract. I was able to transition to a position supporting the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate because of the experience, networking and resources provided to me by Atlas.

  • Not every service member is able to utilize these resources or even has access to them, and that is what EmBgloo and The Dog Tag Initiative want to address. Our goal is to ensure that transitioning service members, regardless of background or experience, are afforded the opportunity to thrive in the civilian sector. By providing transitioning and newly transitioned service members with a unique opportunity to not only increase their professional experience but contribute to a good cause, EmBgloo is able to serve veterans and underserved communities simultaneously.

Operation Dog Tag: A reintegration “BootCamp” for mental health and well being

We work with veterans who volunteer in underserved and rural communities in Africa in all of our projects while benefiting from nature and Behavioral cognitive therapy as a technique to better reintegrate back into normal society.
